Well, the last WORS race of the season has come and gone. Not without some controversy though. I guess wanting to volunteer and getting the volunteer points has become an issue. Lynne emailed the race director about volunteering at Sheboygan - never received confirmation back from Dano - that should have been our first indication something was amiss.
She headed up on race day only to find they didn't need any more help and that this was all the talk on the website. Well she had not brought her bike along so continued with plan A and volunteered for th eentire race pulling tags at the finish line.
Not having received any points for the day bumped her out of the running for third place in her age group - she finishes the season in 4th place. She was pissed! If only she had riden then she would have sewn up 3rd place. Oh well. Live and learn. She'll never volunteer again and has indicated such in emails with the WORS organization.
I had a good race - eventhough my finsh placement wouldn't indicate such - 14th out of 18 or so. There were 7 or 8 day of riders that really did well on their home course. Now it's off to my 2nd 'cross race of my life this weekend. That will be for anther entry. So long for now.

Visted Shevegas on Saturday to see how the race course had been changed by the Fat-Kats crew. Riding this trail in the past was quite the pain in the butt! The old 'Goose hardtail wasn't suited for the rooted sections and I paid the price.
Riding the new f/s Trek was definitely an improvement!
I'm looking forward to racing again!
See ya in Shevegas!
